    Dr. S. Jaishankar to Visit Australia and Singapore for Key Diplomatic Engagements, Inauguration of New Consulate

    New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will embark on a six-day trip to Australia and Singapore from Sunday.

    During his visit to Australia, Dr. Jaishankar is scheduled to inaugurate India’s fourth consulate in Brisbane. He will also co-chair the 15th Foreign Ministers’ Framework Dialogue (FMFD) with his Australian counterpart, Penny Wong, in Canberra. Additionally, Dr. Jaishankar will attend the inaugural session of the second Raisina Down Under event, held at the Australian Parliament House, where he will deliver a keynote address. He is also set to engage with Australian leadership, parliamentarians, members of the Indian diaspora, business community, media, and think tanks.

    “External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will visit Australia from 03 to 07 November. During the visit, the EAM will travel to Brisbane to inaugurate India’s 4th consulate in Australia. He will also co-chair the 15th Foreign Ministers’ Framework Dialogue (FMFD) with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong in Canberra. The EAM will deliver the keynote address at the inaugural session of the 2nd Raisina Down Under to be held in the Australian Parliament House. He will also have interactions with Australian leadership, parliamentarians, members of the Indian diaspora, business community, media, and think tanks,” the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated. Following his five-day trip to Australia, Dr. Jaishankar will travel to Singapore on 8 November. During this visit, he will address the eighth Roundtable of the ASEAN-India Network of Think Tanks.

    In Singapore, he will meet with officials from the Singapore Government to review the close partnership between the two countries and explore avenues for further enhancing the bilateral relationship. “EAM will travel to Singapore for an official visit on 08 November 2024, during which he will address the 8th Roundtable of the ASEAN-India Network of Think Tanks. He will also meet the leadership of Singapore to review the close partnership between the two countries and explore avenues to further enhance the bilateral relationship,” the MEA stated.
