Devara Release: Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan starrer Devara Part 1 is all set to release on the big screens on September 27. The pan-India movie is eyeing a blockbuster opening, with many predicting that it could cross the ₹100 crore mark in collection, including India and overseas business.
While the film is expected to do well in Telugu states, how far it goes in Hindi remains to be seen. Director Koratala Siva shared his opinion on how the film will do in the North markets and what are the team’s expectations for the Hindi business.
‘If the emotions and drama…’: Koratala Siva on Devara Hindi business
Given Saif Ali Khan is playing the villain Devara and Janhvi Kapoor is the leading lady, the movie is expected to make noise in the North markets. After RRR, Jr NTR is also a well-known face in the Hindi speaking belts. About the film’s business up North, Koratala Siva said, “I am not the kind of person who does those calculations. While penning the story or a particular sequence, I don’t think if it would connect to the Hindi audience or not. I am weak at doing such things. I believe a film would connect with all language audiences if the story writing process happens organically.”
Koratala Siva talks about the appeal of universal movies
Koratala Siva added, “Are Lagaan and Dangal Bollywood movies or Tollywood movies? We gave a standing ovation to both of them. The directors of those films worked honestly and gave their best to the story. If the emotions and drama are presented well, there shouldn’t be a doubt about the sensibilities of Hindi audience.”
The two-part franchise is billed as a high-octane action drama set in the forgotten coastal lands of India.
