Delhi, December 26, 2024: Delhi University (DU) has announced the introduction of a PhD program in Hindu Studies, set to begin in the upcoming academic session. This interdisciplinary program will delve into the history, philosophy, literature, and cultural practices associated with Hinduism, offering scholars a comprehensive platform to explore one of the world’s oldest traditions.
The curriculum has been designed to integrate traditional knowledge with contemporary research methodologies. Courses will cover a range of topics, including Vedic literature, Hindu philosophy, ancient texts, rituals, and their impact on society. Scholars will also have the opportunity to examine the role of Hindu Studies in shaping India’s historical and cultural landscape.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh expressed his enthusiasm for the program, stating, “This initiative will provide students with a unique opportunity to deeply engage with Indian heritage and contribute to the global discourse on Hindu Studies.”
