New Delhi, March 24, 2025 – Delhi Minister Ashish Sood has blamed the AAP government for the rising electricity rates in the capital, citing a massive ₹27,000 crore debt incurred under its administration. He stated that financial mismanagement and unpaid subsidies have pushed the power sector into a crisis, forcing an increase in tariffs.
Sood criticized the Arvind Kejriwal-led government for burdening consumers with the consequences of its poor policies. He claimed that the debt has made it unsustainable for discoms to maintain stable electricity prices, warning that residents should prepare for higher power bills in the coming months.
