Delhi Police Nab 12th-Grader Behind School Bomb Threat Hoaxes

New Delhi, January 10, 2025 – The Delhi Police have apprehended a 12th-grade student accused of sending bomb threat emails to multiple schools in the national capital. The student confessed to sending 23 recent threat emails and admitted to similar actions in the past. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan confirmed the confession during interrogation and stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the threats. Authorities are prioritizing the safety and security of educational institutions while implementing measures to prevent future incidents.

This case is part of a series of bomb hoaxes that have plagued Delhi schools. In December 2024, over 40 schools received similar emails, resulting in evacuations and widespread panic. These emails included ransom demands of $30,000, with threats of harm to students if the demands were not met. Police, in collaboration with international law enforcement agencies, are working diligently to trace the origins of such threats and ensure the safety of students and staff across the city.
