New Delhi, January 28, 2025: The Delhi High Court has directed the Delhi government and CBSE to take action against “dummy” schools that offer Delhi domicile benefits to out-of-state students. These schools reportedly allow students to attend only coaching classes while appearing for exams, which the court termed as a “fraud.” The bench, led by Chief Justice D.K. Upadhyaya, ordered inspections to address this issue.
During the hearing, the Delhi government denied the existence of such schools, claiming the issue was overstated. However, the court questioned the lack of action, noting that only two cases had been addressed. It further directed the authorities to file an affidavit detailing the actions taken against these schools.
