Delhi, December 6, 2024: Delhi’s air quality has shown significant improvement, leading to the relaxation of stringent measures under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP)-4. With the Air Quality Index (AQI) improving to a more manageable level, authorities decided to ease restrictions, providing much-needed relief to residents and commuters.
The GRAP-4 measures, which included restrictions on construction activities, heavy vehicle movement, and the operation of coal-fired plants, had been implemented earlier due to worsening air quality. However, with the recent improvement, many of these measures have now been relaxed. This easing is expected to reduce strain on the city’s infrastructure and help businesses resume normal operations.
Despite the improvement, authorities continue to closely monitor the situation. If the air quality worsens again, the GRAP-4 measures may be reinstated to protect public health and safety.
