‘Dalali ki Dukaan’: BJP Steps Up Attack Against Congress Over Priyanka Gandhi’s Net Worth

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday intensified its attack on Congress and the Gandhi family, accusing them of hypocrisy and corruption. BJP leader Gaurav Bhatia launched a blistering assault on the Gandhi family, questioning the sources of their “ill-gotten wealth.” This comes a day after Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra filed her nomination for the Wayanad Lok Sabha bypoll and declared a total income of over ₹46.39 lakh for the financial year 2023-2024, which includes rental income and interest from banks and other investments. Bhatia also accused Robert Vadra, Priyanka Gandhi’s husband, of concealing his actual net worth.

During a press conference in Delhi, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia stated, “The people in the country want to ask a few questions from the ‘fake Gandhis.’ This affidavit (of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra) is a confession of the corruption that these ‘fake Gandhis’ and their brother-in-law Robert Vadra have been involved in. The declared net worth of Robert Vadra is lower than what the IT department is demanding.” Bhatia’s remarks were part of a broader strategy to challenge the Gandhi family’s integrity.

Bhatia also took a jab at Congress by claiming, “Congress is dalali ki dukaan, not mohabbat ki dukaan. They are number one in appeasement politics and corruption.” He criticized Rahul Gandhi for his earlier comments regarding the Rafale deal, in which he alleged that the BJP-led government had taken money from the poor and handed it to industrialist Anil Ambani. Bhatia remarked, “We all know Rahul Gandhi is full of corruption. He claimed that money taken from the poor was given to Ambani. This is the 11th year of the BJP government, and no one can point a finger at us.”

Bhatia further emphasized that the entire nation is demanding answers from Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra regarding the sources of what he termed “prima facie ill-gotten wealth,” suggesting that there may be a quid pro quo or “commissionkhori” involved. He referred to Robert Vadra as “crime master Gogo,” stating, “I have come, so I must take something with me.” He urged the Gandhi family to answer the allegations and let the nation know the truth. Bhatia concluded by asserting that the Gandhi family serves as a symbol of hypocrisy, stating, “One should learn from the Gandhi family what hypocrisy truly is.”
