COAI Flags Illegal Jammers, Boosters Disrupting Mobile Networks Nationwide

New Delhi, February 5: The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) has expressed alarm over the rising use of illegal jammers in educational institutions and unauthorized signal boosters by individuals and firms, which are disrupting mobile network services nationwide. These practices, intended to block signals during exams or enhance reception, are illegal and interfere with public mobile networks, causing connectivity issues for genuine users.

The COAI has called for stricter enforcement of laws to address these disruptions and urged the government to take swift action. Telecom operators emphasized the importance of public awareness regarding the legal and technical ramifications of such equipment and reaffirmed their commitment to working with authorities to ensure uninterrupted mobile connectivity for all.
