Amaravati, April 24, 2025 — Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will launch the Matsyakara Bharosa Scheme on April 26 in Ichchapuram, Srikakulam district. The scheme will provide fishermen with ₹20,000 financial assistance during the fishing ban period, fulfilling Naidu’s pre-election promise. The Chief Minister will personally hand over the assistance to the beneficiaries.
The government has already approved the scheme, and funds will be distributed to eligible fishermen. The annual fishing ban, meant to protect fish and shrimp during spawning, will see fishermen receive this aid. Strict regulations are in place, and violators of the ban will face legal action and lose access to welfare benefits.
