Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, November 26, 2024 – Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced that several state roads in Annamayya and YSR districts will be upgraded and maintained as national highways. He urged legislative members to educate the public and ensure a smooth transition of these roads. Elected representatives were tasked with convincing people to embrace these changes.
During a recent Legislative Assembly session, Naidu encouraged members to include their districts in the pilot rollout. Several roads in these districts were selected for upgrades, including improvements to potholes, timely bitumen layers, and maintaining clear roadsides. Proposals for road management under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model have been submitted to senior officials, with private companies encouraged to handle the maintenance.
