After a cabinet meeting, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu discussed political issues, particularly focusing on the social media campaign against the government led by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan raised concerns over posts intended to defame the government, stressing that ignoring them would be harmful. He pointed out that some police officers were allegedly being negligent about complaints regarding offensive and false social media posts. The cabinet also discussed concerns that certain officials who were active under the previous YSRCP government still hold influential positions.
Following the meeting, ministers informed CM Naidu about specific officials whose actions were negatively impacting the government’s reputation. They reported that in several districts, certain Superintendents of Police (SPs) were not responding adequately to calls from ministers. Instead, they blamed lower-level officers, like DSPs and Circle Inspectors (CIs), for inaction. Pawan Kalyan expressed frustration, stating he felt compelled to respond strongly to posts targeting women in derogatory ways.
CM Naidu reacted with dissatisfaction, suggesting that these issues with certain police officers have persisted since the previous administration. He emphasized the need to restore order within a month by addressing these problems collectively. He also made it clear that the government will no longer tolerate false posts on social media, warning that strict measures will be taken against those responsible.
Additionally, Pawan Kalyan reportedly accused some officials in various departments of engaging in corrupt activities, further highlighting the need for stricter monitoring and accountability within the government’s ranks.
