Mumbai, February 15, 2025: Bollywood star Vicky Kaushal and actress Rashmika Mandanna starrer ‘Chhaava’ has set a new box office record. Released on Valentine’s Day, the film earned ₹31 crore on its opening day, becoming the biggest Bollywood opener of the year. It also saw impressive pre-sale bookings, with over 5 lakh tickets sold, leading to an increased screen count for the weekend.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, ‘Chhaava’ is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film showcases his resistance against Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb (played by Akshaye Khanna) and his fight to protect the Maratha Empire. Audiences have praised Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna for their performances, with the emotional climax receiving special appreciation.
