Hyderabad, January 9, 2025 – Ahead of the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau’s (ACB) questioning of BRS Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) in connection with the alleged Formula E scam, several BRS leaders, including MLA T Harish Rao, have been placed under house arrest. The ACB is investigating KTR’s possible involvement in financial irregularities surrounding the Formula E race held in Hyderabad in February 2023. In addition, the Enforcement Directorate has initiated proceedings under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act against KTR and other individuals involved in the case.
Harish Rao has strongly alleged that KTR is being falsely targeted by the Congress government to divert attention from more pressing public issues. The Telangana High Court recently dismissed KTR’s petition to quash the ACB’s case against him, thereby lifting the protection against his arrest. As the investigation unfolds, political tensions in the state continue to rise.
