Jaipur: A high alert has been sounded across Rajasthan after several railway stations in the state, including one in Jaipur, received bomb threats on Wednesday, according to media reports.
Reports suggest the station superintendent at Hanumangarh Junction received a threat letter from an unidentified person in the name of the terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed. The letter mentioned warning of bombings at multiple stations, including at Sriganganagar, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Kota, Bundi, Udaipur, and Jaipur.
In view of the bomb scare, a massive security operation was launched, with BSF personnel, along with GRP and RPF forces, conducting thorough searches of Hanumangarh Junction.
However, upon thorough search, no suspicious items were recovered. Meanwhile, Additional Superintendent of Police, Pyarelal Meena, arrived at the station to oversee the security arrangements. Security was beefed up in the area with deployment of additional police personnel to secure the area.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case in this regard against the unknown person. An investigations was underway to trace the origin of the threat letter.
