Mumbai, February 6, 2025 – The body of Sunil Pachar, a 23-year-old Merchant Navy employee, was found floating in the Arabian Sea near Sassoon Dock, Mumbai. Pachar, who had been working as a temporary crew member since November 2024, went missing on January 29 after being last seen sleeping on the deck of the ship. When his colleagues could not locate him, a missing person report was filed, prompting an investigation.
The body was discovered by local residents on February 5, and authorities later identified it as Pachar’s. While the initial assessment suggests drowning as the cause of death, further investigation and an autopsy will confirm the exact circumstances. The police have registered an Accidental Death Report, and an ongoing probe is underway.
