Chandigarh:The Bharatiya Janata Party, skillfully seized victory from Congress for the third time in Haryana as election results rolled in, with the saffron party taking a dig at Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi , for his controversial as well as amusing remarks on Indian sweet ‘Jalebi’, to which which he suggested could be mass-produced in factories to generate more jobs.
The party wasted no time in mocking Rahul Gandhi , who faced backlash for his amusing remarks during the campaign that entertained many voters. “On behalf of all the workers of Bhartiya Janata Party Haryana , jalebi has been sent to Rahul Gandhi ‘s home,” tweeted the BJP ‘s Haryana unit.
“If these jalebis go across the country and the world, then maybe their factory will have 10,000 to 50,000 workers. But they are trapped in (Prime Minister) Narendra Modi ji’s chakravyuh,” Gandhi had remarked.
Rahul Gandhi ‘s comments about factory-made jalebis gained attention, which made the BJP to question why India’s Leader of Opposition seems so disconnected from everyday Indian life.
Following a historic hat-trick victory in Haryana , Chief Minister Nayyab Singh Saini traveled to Delhi to meet Prime Minister Modi. Sources indicate that Saini is set to take his oath as Chief Minister on Dussehra, October 12.
