The attack occurred in the midst of the ongoing political debate surrounding Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s legacy, with tensions running high between the BJP and Congress.
BJP leaders, including MPs, have accused Rahul Gandhi and Congress party members of inciting violence during the protest, resulting in physical altercations and injuries to BJP MPs. In a statement, BJP termed the actions of the Congress party as “goondaism” and demanded that strict action be taken against the perpetrators.
