BJP enrolled 22L members in just 45 days: Andhra MP Purandeswari

VIJAYAWADA: BJP State president and Rajamahendravaram MP Daggubati Purandeswari inaugurated the Sangathan Parva State workshop in Vijayawada on Monday. “The BJP is different from other political parties, with new members recruited every six months and leaders elected democratically from the booth level to the State level,” she said.

Purandeswari appointed Paka Satyanarayana as the Election Returning Officer for BJP Andhra Pradesh, with Bitra Sivannarayana, Mitta Parthasarathy, and Suresh Reddy as assistant election officers. Prominent leaders, national executive members, MLAs, and ministers attended the workshop.

Highlighting the BJP’s transition to online membership registration, the AP BJP chief noted, “In just 45 days, 22 lakh members have been registered, reflecting the dedication of our workers.” She credited Prime Minister Modi’s leadership for the BJP’s growing influence and emphasized the Centre’s commitment to Andhra Pradesh’s development. She also criticized the previous YSRCP government for misappropriating funds intended for development.

Adding to the state’s development initiatives, she mentioned the recent announcement of a new railway line to Amaravati by Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw, reaffirming the Centre’s support for infrastructure projects. The Centre has allocated Rs 12,500 crore for the Polavaram project and Rs 900 crore specifically for the reconstruction of its diaphragm wall. Health Minister Vidadala Rajini also lauded the success of BJP’s membership drive, indicating it as a strong foundation for future elections in the state.

At the event, discussions were held on upcoming election strategies, focusing on youth engagement, digital outreach, and public welfare schemes. Leaders emphasized increasing booth-level support, particularly in rural areas, and strengthening the party’s reach. Purandeswari also highlighted initiatives planned for women and farmers, aligning with PM Modi’s vision for inclusive development.

The BJP State workshop included training sessions for leaders and workers on efficient use of digital tools, social media, and new campaigning techniques, aiming to boost voter outreach and support for BJP’s welfare programs in Andhra Pradesh.
