Dhaka, Bangladesh, December 3, 2024 – The bail hearing for Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das, facing sedition charges, has been postponed for a month due to an attack on his lawyer, Advocate Ramen Roy. Roy was severely injured in an assault by Islamist extremists and is now in critical care.
With no legal representation available, the hearing, originally scheduled for December 3, has been rescheduled to January 2, 2025.
