Chennai, March 27, 2025 — Indian table tennis duo Ayhika Mukherjee and Ankur Bhattacharjee have secured a spot in the main draw of the WTT Star Contender Chennai 2025 mixed doubles event. They earned their place after defeating compatriots Anirban Ghosh and Swastika Ghosh in a five-game battle during the qualifying rounds at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium.
Mukherjee, an Asian Games medalist, and Bhattacharjee, a three-time National Youth Champion, showed resilience despite trailing twice in the match. Mukherjee’s defensive skills and Bhattacharjee’s attacking play proved crucial in sealing their victory and advancing in the tournament.
