New Delhi, April 17, 2025 – Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has raised alarm over the misuse of Article 142 of the Indian Constitution, calling it a “nuclear missile” against democratic forces. He argued that while the article was meant to ensure justice, it is now being exploited in a way that undermines the integrity of democratic institutions. Dhankhar called for a reassessment of its application to safeguard constitutional values.
In the same address, he also cautioned against the influence of anti-national elements and warned of strategic demographic shifts in certain areas of the country. Comparing these changes to the impact of a nuclear bomb, Dhankhar said they could pose a serious threat to national unity. He stressed the importance of preserving India’s cultural identity and democratic structure in the face of such emerging challenges.
