Vizianagaram, December 14, 2024: In a major crackdown on illegal drug trafficking, Andhra Pradesh Police seized a lorry carrying 810 kilograms of marijuana in Vizianagaram district on December 14, 2024. The contraband was hidden inside the vehicle, which was intercepted during a routine check by the police on a highway.
Authorities have arrested the driver and a co-conspirator involved in transporting the illegal cargo. Preliminary investigations suggest that the drugs were being smuggled from a neighboring state to be distributed in the region. The police have launched an extensive investigation to uncover the larger network involved in the drug trade.
The seizure is considered one of the largest drug busts in the state this year, and the police have vowed to continue their efforts to curb the growing menace of drug trafficking in Andhra Pradesh.
