    AP Police has a special brand in the country: CM Chandrababu

    During the Police Commemoration Day, CM Chandrababu spoke about the sacrifices of police officers, stating that they have given their lives in the line of duty and are remembered as heroes in the hearts of the people. He praised the police department as the most crucial among all departments. CM Chandrababu attended the event held in Vijayawada to honor police martyrs. In his speech, he emphasized the essential role of the police in any progress, recognizing their tireless efforts to protect the lives and properties of the people, working day and night. He expressed heartfelt appreciation for the police officers’ dedication.

    He highlighted that, during the unified state’s time, Naxalism was suppressed with a firm hand. He mentioned the government’s success in curbing factionalism and rowdyism, maintaining law and order without any compromise. He stressed that the welfare of the police is the responsibility of the government, and it is also their duty to strengthen the police machinery. CM Chandrababu mentioned that after the state’s bifurcation, several changes were made in the police system, including the provision of vehicles, equipment, and technical facilities. Between 2014-2019, Rs. 600 crores were spent on the police department, with Rs. 150 crores allocated for new vehicles, Rs. 60 crores for the repair and maintenance of police offices, and Rs. 55 crores for police welfare. Additionally, Rs. 27 crores were used to purchase APFSL equipment, as explained by the CM.

    CM Chandrababu mentioned that a robust police system was established to effectively tackle challenges. He highlighted the creation of a special center for Greyhounds in Visakhapatnam. He noted that the central government continually supports the enhancement of the police system. The CM emphasized that it is the government’s responsibility to provide modern weapons and technological support. He stated that within 125 days of coming into power, all pending bills were cleared. CM Chandrababu further mentioned that they had settled Rs. 16 crore for vehicles under the Disha initiative and Rs. 20 crore for communication equipment that was pending.
