Amaravati, January 28, 2025: The Andhra Pradesh government has launched the “Andariki Illu” scheme, which will provide free residential land titles to BPL families, specifically in the name of women. The scheme offers 2 cents of land in urban areas and 3 cents in rural areas to families holding white ration cards. A Government Order (GO-23) was issued on Monday to implement the distribution, with land titles being granted in the form of conveyance deeds, and ownership rights provided after ten years.
Special Secretary of the Revenue Department, RP Sisodia, outlined that the land allotment will be followed by construction completion within two years. The scheme will not apply to those who already own property or have previously benefited from government housing schemes. The process will be overseen by a state-level committee, with district-level committees responsible for execution.
