Visakhapatnam, February 15, 2025: The Andhra Pradesh government is expediting the Visakha Metro project with a double-decker system, initiating land acquisition for the first phase. Spanning 46.23 km across three corridors, the project requires 99.75 acres, with details submitted to the Collectorate.
Supervised by the Sub-Collector, the first phase covers routes from Steel Plant to Kommadi, Gurudwara to Old Post Office, and Thatichetlapalem to Chinna Waltair. A special team is overseeing land surveys, prioritizing government land while acquiring private land only for stations. The project will include 42 metro stations across key areas.
