Visakhapatnam, February 3, 2025 – The Andhra Pradesh government is preparing to launch seaplane tourism from Rushikonda to Jolaput, with feasibility studies conducted in Visakhapatnam, Alluri Sitarama Raju, Kakinada, and East Godavari districts. Aviation companies, including SpiceJet, are assessing water resources and operational challenges, while the Andhra Pradesh Aviation Development Corporation (APADC) is also considering sites like Bhogapuram, Araku, and Paderu.
Experts identified Bheemili beach as a suitable location, while Jolaput reservoir was found viable but faces infrastructure challenges. Surveys in Korangi, Dindi, Pasarlapudi, Kotipalli, and Antarvedi identified a few promising sites. A second phase will assess Vizianagaram and Srikakulam, with a final report to determine the seaplane routes and launch timeline.
