
Amaravati, April 4, 2025: The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, has approved key projects to boost industrial growth and employment. A ₹1,35,000 crore steel plant by ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel in Visakhapatnam is set to create 55,000 jobs by 2033, along with a captive port at DL Puram for cargo transport.
Other decisions include forming the ‘Amaravati Jalaharathi Corporation’ for the Polavaram-Banakancharla project and allocating ₹44.60 crore for the Chintalapudi Lift Irrigation Scheme. To promote tourism, the government cut bar license fees for three-star hotels and aims to add 50,000 hotel rooms. Financial measures include a ₹710 crore HUDCO loan guarantee and compensation for NavaYuga Engineering and APGENCO.
