Vijayawada, January 24, 2025: Dinesh Kumar, CMD of Andhra Pradesh Drone Corporation, announced that investors in the proposed Drone City in Orvakallu, Kurnool district, will receive incentives. The city, spanning 300 acres, will be the first of its kind in the country, integrating drone manufacturing, services, and component units. At a round-table meeting in Vijayawada, Kumar emphasized the government’s plans to foster this emerging industry.
The government aims to create around 40,000 jobs and set up the largest drone testing facility in Orvakallu. The city will promote industries similar to those in China, Belgium, and the U.S. Land will be allocated for industrial units, and skill development training is being offered to students through partnerships with institutes like the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design, and Manufacturing.
