New Delhi, December 20, 2024: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit the Bru settlement areas and attend the 72nd North East Council (NEC) meeting in Tripura this Saturday. His visit is part of the government’s continued efforts to address issues related to the resettlement of the Bru community and to review developmental initiatives in the northeastern states.
During his visit, Shah will meet with leaders from the Bru community to discuss the progress of the resettlement process, which has been a significant issue in the region for years. The resettlement was part of a historic agreement between the central government, Tripura state authorities, and the Bru refugees, ensuring their rehabilitation.
In addition to his meetings with community leaders, Shah will participate in the 72nd NEC meeting, which will focus on regional development, infrastructure, and security issues in the northeastern states.
