Jharia: Union Home Minister Amit Shah took a strong stance against the JMM-led coalition government in Jharkhand, accusing it of corruption and involvement in coal smuggling. Speaking at a rally in the coal-rich region of Jharia, Shah urged voters to support the BJP to ensure that “corrupt leaders are hanged upside down.” He claimed that the BJP would end coal smuggling in the state, offering reassurance to traders that they need not fear under BJP governance.
Shah also targeted Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, accusing him of welcoming infiltrators and allowing them to take advantage of the state’s resources. He promised that the BJP would identify and expel infiltrators if voted into power. Shah alleged that these infiltrators were marrying tribal women and seizing their land, and emphasized that the BJP would protect the rights of the state’s people.
In his speech, Shah continued to attack the Congress, alleging attempts to undermine the reservation system for OBCs, STs, and SCs in favor of Muslims. He promised that the BJP would protect these reservations and not allow the Congress’s plan to succeed. Shah also made a provocative remark against Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, urging voters to press the BJP’s lotus symbol so hard that “current is felt in Italy,” a subtle dig at her Italian origins.
Shah concluded his speech by emphasizing that the upcoming election in Jharkhand would determine the future of the state, especially for women, promising property rights for just one rupee if the BJP comes to power. He framed the vote as a choice between empowering the people under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership or allowing the current corrupt government to continue.
