New Delhi, May 19, 2025 – Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched an upgraded Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) portal designed to improve the experience for millions of OCI cardholders. The revamped portal offers a simplified application process, faster processing, and enhanced features like visa renewals, status tracking, and grievance redressal, enabling easier digital management of OCI services.
Shah highlighted the government’s focus on using technology to strengthen ties with the Indian diaspora and provide efficient service delivery. The new portal aims to reduce delays, promote seamless interactions, and support overseas Indians in maintaining close connections with India while facilitating travel and investment.
