New Delhi, January 11, 2025: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has called for a unified effort to eradicate drug abuse in India. Addressing a national conference on drug control, he stressed the need for collaboration between central and state governments, law enforcement, and the judiciary to tackle the growing narcotics problem. Shah highlighted the government’s success in increasing drug seizures and dismantling trafficking networks, while reinforcing its zero-tolerance stance toward drug crimes.
Shah urged states to implement a comprehensive approach, including awareness campaigns, rehabilitation programs, and strict law enforcement. He also called for greater international cooperation to combat cross-border trafficking and emphasized the role of public participation in reporting illegal activities. The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to making India drug-free and protecting the nation’s youth from substance abuse.
