Amaravati, January 6, 2025: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has intensified its inquiry into the forceful acquisition of shares in Kakinada Sea Port Limited (KSPL) and the Kakinada SEZ under the YSRCP government. This inquiry follows a complaint filed by KSPL owner Karnati Venkateswarlu, based on an FIR registered by the Andhra Pradesh CID. The ED has already conducted an initial investigation and confirmed the involvement of significant money laundering activities in this case.
As part of the investigation, the ED had previously issued a notice to YSRCP MP Vijayasai Reddy to appear for questioning. However, due to the ongoing Parliament sessions, he was unable to attend. Consequently, another notice was issued, and today, Vijayasai Reddy appeared before the ED at its office in Basheerbagh, Hyderabad, for questioning.
