Amaravati, January 4, 2025: The Andhra Pradesh government is considering introducing an internal marks system for 9th and 10th grade exams from the next academic year. Under the proposed system, the exams will be reduced to 80 marks, with the remaining 20 marks coming from internal assessments. This change aligns with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) system, where internal marks are included in the final evaluation.
The government aims to prevent private schools from inflating internal marks, a practice that led to the system being abolished in 2019. With the implementation of the NCERT syllabus and Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) method, internal assessments will now be incorporated into the 9th and 10th exams, with public exams covering 80 marks.
