    Woman Takes Her Own Life in Thane After Parents Refuse to Give Her a Phone

    Thane: In a tragic incident, a 19-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide in Dombivali in Thane district after her parents refused to give her a mobile phone on Friday. 

    According to the police, the incident took place on Thursday night in Deslepada, the Manpada police station official said.

    “Her parents have told us she was upset since they had not given her a mobile phone. She hanged herself in a room of her house. An accidental death case was registered and further probe is underway,” the official said. 

    A 25-year-old Mankhurd resident committed by hurling himself in front of a speeding mail express train at Thane railway station, following a failed romantic relationship, said officials.

    “He leaped into its path onto the tracks and got crushed under its wheels,” informed Archana Dusane, senior inspector at the Thane railway police.

    The police discovered a suicide note from the pocket of the deceased, where he mentioned that he was resorting to this drastic measure following a failed relationship. The railway police has registered an accidental death case.

    A 12-year-old boy also committed suicide by hanging himself at his house in Maharashtra ’s Thane district, police said on Monday.The incident took place on Sunday in Kalyan town, they said adding a suicide note was recovered from the spot and it was being examined.The contents of the note were not yet disclosed.The boy, studying in a school in Kalyan, allegedly hanged himself from the ceiling of his house, an official from Kolsewadi police station said.
