Tirumala’s Break Darshan Cancelled on January 7 for Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam Rituals

Tirumala, December 26, 2024: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced that the Break Darshan on January 7, 2025, will be cancelled due to the Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam ritual at the Sri Venkateswara Temple. This annual purification ritual, part of the Vaikuntha Ekadashi celebrations, will involve special prayers and offerings. As a result, no recommendation letters will be accepted on January 6. Devotees will be allowed for Sarva Darshan (free darshan) following the ritual.

In preparation for the 10-day Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan from January 10 to 19, TTD is making extensive arrangements. With an expected footfall of nearly 70,000 devotees per day, only those with valid tickets will be allowed entry into the queue lines for darshan. TTD Executive Officer Shyamala Rao and Additional EO Venkanna Chowdary have assured that several measures are being put in place to ensure a smooth experience for devotees during this period.

Meanwhile, there is a growing demand for Srivani Trust Darshan tickets, which are issued at a cost of ₹10,500. The TTD issues 800 tickets daily from the Gokulam office in Tirumala, leading to long queues that form as early as 6 AM. For the past 10 days, tickets have been exhausted by 1 PM. Families wishing to obtain tickets are required to visit the counter in person with every member, including infants, causing significant inconvenience. Despite the efforts, many devotees are disappointed when the tickets run out early each day.
