Navi Mumbai, December 26, 2024: A prominent doctor was allegedly cheated of Rs 70 lakh in a flat purchase deal in Navi Mumbai. The victim, who had been searching for a property, fell into a fraudulent real estate scam involving three individuals. The doctor agreed to buy a flat after being misled by the accused, who provided fake documents and false representations, prompting him to transfer the substantial amount.
Following the incident, the police registered a case and booked the three individuals for cheating and fraud under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to locate the accused and recover the defrauded amount.
Meanwhile, the doctor is taking legal action to recover the losses incurred in the scam. The case has raised concerns over the growing number of real estate frauds in the area, prompting calls for stricter regulations in property transactions.
