The government is making strides in resolving long-standing problems related to roads, drinking water, and drainage systems. The ongoing development programs have generated a sense of optimism among the citizens, with progress being seen across the city, particularly in the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation area. The work to fill potholes on roads is progressing swiftly, and new road construction is underway in areas where it is needed most.
In addition to road repairs, the government is focusing on addressing the drinking water crisis. The coalition government has committed significant resources, with crores of rupees allocated to resolve public issues across the city. The officials have expressed confidence that the pothole filling project on major roads will be completed soon, with substantial progress already made. The government is also taking swift actions to address underground drainage and drinking water issues, with plans to resolve them as quickly as possible.
A major concern for residents is the drinking water issue, particularly in the Ramalingeshwar Nagar area, where problems such as poor-quality water, irregular supply, and insufficient quantity have been frequent. To address this, the government is constructing a water treatment plant with an investment of around 74 crore rupees, with a target to complete the plant in two years. The plant is expected to serve nearly two and a half lakh people in the surrounding areas. Additionally, work on the water pipeline is already in progress, and officials are hopeful that the project will be completed soon, along with the ongoing efforts to address the city’s drainage concerns. The residents are hopeful that these initiatives will bring lasting solutions to the city’s critical issues.
