    Foundation Stone for Ken-Betwa River Link Project to Be Laid Tomorrow by PM Modi

    New Delhi, December 24, 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lay the foundation stone for the ambitious Ken-Betwa river link project in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh, tomorrow. This landmark project, part of the National Perspective Plan for interlinking of rivers, aims to address water scarcity issues in the region and provide a reliable source of water for irrigation, drinking, and industrial purposes.

    The Ken-Betwa river link project is expected to benefit the water-starved regions of Bundelkhand in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, bringing water from the Ken River to the Betwa River through a network of canals and reservoirs. The project is poised to transform the agricultural landscape and improve the livelihoods of millions of people in the region.

    This mega project, with an estimated cost of around Rs 44,000 crore, is also seen as a major step toward achieving sustainable water management in India. The foundation-laying ceremony is being viewed as a significant moment for the country’s development, with the government emphasizing its commitment to addressing the water challenges faced by rural India.
