    IMD Warns of Intense Rain and Strong Winds as Cyclone Looms Over Bay of Bengal

    Amaravati, December 20, 2024: A cyclonic system forming over the Bay of Bengal is expected to bring heavy rainfall to Andhra Pradesh in the coming days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The weather department has issued alerts for multiple districts, warning of intense downpours, strong winds, and potential disruptions. The system, which is gradually intensifying, is likely to cause significant weather changes along the state’s coastline.

    Coastal regions, including Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, and East Godavari, are anticipated to face the heaviest impact. Fishermen have been advised to avoid venturing into the sea as conditions are expected to be extremely rough.
