New Delhi, December 19, 2024: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has strongly criticized recent media reports concerning a Pakistani resolution on the Indian territories of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) presented at the United Nations. The MEA termed these reports as misleading and emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India.
In a statement, the MEA reiterated India’s firm position on the matter, stating that any attempts to internationalize the issue are baseless and will not alter the established facts. The Ministry called on the media to exercise caution and responsibility when reporting on such sensitive topics.
This development follows Pakistan’s recent efforts to bring the Kashmir issue to international forums, which have been consistently rejected by India. India maintains that Jammu and Kashmir is an internal matter and that any external involvement is unwarranted.
The MEA’s response underscores India’s commitment to safeguarding its territorial integrity and countering misinformation on the global stage.
