BJP to File FIR Against Rahul Gandhi After Violent Protest in Lok Sabha

New Delhi, December 19, 2024: Tensions escalated in the Lok Sabha today as BJP Members of Parliament (MPs) announced their intention to file a First Information Report (FIR) against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi following a protest that resulted in injuries to two MPs. The protest, which was held in response to remarks made by Congress leaders, became chaotic, leading to physical altercations and disruptions in the proceedings.

BJP MPs claimed that Rahul Gandhi’s comments during the protest incited violence and led to the injury of their colleagues. In the wake of the incident, the injured MPs were rushed to the hospital for treatment. The Speaker of the House was forced to suspend the session temporarily as the situation spiraled out of control.

The BJP’s move to file an FIR has further fueled the political standoff between the two parties, with BJP leaders accusing Congress of promoting violence and Congress leaders claiming that the protests were a legitimate expression of dissent. As the row intensifies, concerns are growing over the impact on the ongoing Winter Session of Parliament.
