New Delhi, December 17, 2024: On the second day of the Constitution debate in the Rajya Sabha, BJP National President and senior leader JP Nadda led the government’s charge, strongly countering the Congress over its stance on Article 370. Nadda emphasized the historic decision to abrogate Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir, as a move that restored constitutional equality and integration in the country.
Addressing the Upper House, Nadda criticized the Congress for its earlier opposition to the abrogation and accused the party of prioritizing political gains over national interest. He highlighted the progress and stability achieved in Jammu and Kashmir post-abrogation, including improved security, economic growth, and increased grassroots democracy.
Nadda further stated that the abrogation of Article 370 was a fulfillment of a long-pending constitutional promise and a testament to the government’s commitment to “One Nation, One Constitution.” The debate in the Rajya Sabha continues to see heated exchanges, with the opposition defending its position while the ruling party underscores the transformative impact of the move.
