Hangzhou, December 11, 2024 – Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand, the Indian women’s doubles pair, began their BWF World Tour Finals campaign with a promising start, winning the first game 22-20 against world No. 1 Chinese pair Liu Sheng Shu and Tan Ning. However, the Indian duo could not maintain their momentum and lost the next two games, resulting in a tough defeat.
Despite their strong performance in the opening game, the match proved challenging for the young pair as they struggled to keep pace with the top-ranked Chinese players.
Jolly and Gopichand are now set to face Malaysia’s leading doubles pair, Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan, in their next match, with hopes to bounce back and continue their fight in the prestigious tournament.
