The accused, identified as the branch manager of a branch in Delhi, was taken into custody after being caught red-handed accepting the bribe from a private individual in exchange for facilitating illegal financial transactions.
The CBI had received a tip-off regarding the corrupt activities of the bank official, who allegedly demanded the bribe to expedite certain banking procedures. After conducting a series of surveillance operations, the CBI officers successfully apprehended the branch manager during the transaction. The case is being investigated further to uncover any other potential individuals involved in the bribery network.
