
Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, December 11, 2024: In two separate incidents in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, security forces sustained significant casualties while engaging with Naxal groups. Two jawans from the Special Task Force (STF) were injured in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast during a patrol in the district. The blast targeted the team as they were responding to Naxal activities in the area.
Simultaneously, a clash occurred between security forces and Naxals, resulting in the death of a woman Naxal. The encounter unfolded after a gunfight near Purangel and Iralgudem villages between security forces and Maoist militants. The body of the Naxal, along with a weapon, was recovered after the confrontation. The security forces involved in the operations included the DRG, Bastar Fighters, STF, and CRPF units. These incidents are part of an ongoing operation to neutralize the Naxal presence in the region.
In addition to the injuries and casualties, the government is coordinating with district authorities to ensure the safety of both civilians and troops in the Naxal-affected areas.
