    Karimganj, December 3, 2024 — In a significant crackdown on the drug trade, the Assam Police have seized 1.20 lakh Yaba tablets, valued at Rs 36 crore. The drugs were recovered during an operation in Karimganj district, where police intercepted a vehicle suspected of trafficking contraband. In addition to the Yaba tablets, the police also seized other illicit substances.

    Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the seizure. The tablets, believed to have been trafficked from Champhai in Mizoram, were hidden in the vehicle and intended for distribution across Assam. The authorities acted on a tip-off and swiftly moved to intercept the shipment, preventing the drugs from reaching their destination.
