Bengaluru, December 3, 2024 — Cyclone Fengal has caused widespread disruption across Karnataka, bringing heavy rain, traffic chaos, and school closures. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow and orange alerts for various districts, including Bengaluru, which has experienced continuous rainfall since Sunday evening.

The downpour resulted in significant traffic jams, particularly on Mysuru and Tumakuru roads, adding to congestion during peak hours. Additionally, a house in Chamrajpet collapsed due to the rain, though the elderly residents were unharmed.

In response to the heavy rains, schools and colleges have been closed in districts like Dakshina Kannada and Udupi, while fishermen have been advised to stay ashore until December 6.
