    Rescue Operations Intensify in Tamil Nadu, PM Modi Pledges Government Aid

    Chennai, Tamil Nadu, November 7, 2021 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin to discuss the heavy rainfall and flooding crisis currently affecting the state. The Prime Minister assured Stalin of the central government’s full support for the ongoing rescue and relief operations in the aftermath of the torrential rains.

    Stalin expressed his appreciation for the Centre’s assistance and noted that the state government had formally requested additional resources from the National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF).

    The widespread flooding has left many areas submerged, with Chennai and surrounding districts experiencing significant damage. Authorities are intensifying their efforts to rescue those affected and provide aid to the displaced.

    The situation remains dire, and the Tamil Nadu government is coordinating closely with the Centre to ensure effective disaster management and relief distribution.
